A Bedbound Spring Fling

I have been cooped up in my house for 62 hours and I am going a little stir crazy.

The past few days have been spent wrapped up in blankets, sipping mugs of toasty Lemsip and sweating out one mother clucker of a fever.

The flu has officially landed and bulldozed my immune system in the process.

Now, I detest being ill. It's not just the nausea, the aches, the pains, the constant coughing and spluttering or the industrial strength sneezes, it's the responsibility.

I don't like sleeping all day and I especially don't like being quarantined.

I've spent the majority of my conscious hours day dreaming about sun soaked beaches, sandy toes and drippy ice lollies, and with Spring just about to sprout, I thought I'd treat myself to a little wardrobe freshen up.

From the comfort of my onesie, of course. Fancy a peek in my basket?

Now, where's that box of Kleenex...

BRITs, Bicester & Burgers

Well guess who sneakily snuck their way into the BRIT Awards last week!

Yep, it was definitely the blonde with the big grin right there.

I hopped on a train to the 02 Arena straight after work and dashed to the front of the queue ready to hustle my way in ten minutes before it all kicked off.

Feeling totally and utterly unglamourous, I had just enough time to reach for the reddest, sexiest lipstick I could find before sprucing my hair and making my grand entrance.

Fortunately, I was on the other side of the red carpet and Lily Allen's light up trainers diverted any possible attention away from my shabby appearance.

Good looking out, Lils.

We grabbed a bottle of wine and said our sorry, excuse me's all the way to our seats.

Which turned out to be pretty darn good!

I spied One Direction from a mile off and Fearne Cotton's hair shone like a lightbulb.

We sipped our way through Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Beyonce, toe tapping and hand jiving as we went.

When it was time for the finale, down came the balloons and up came the laser lights!

We giggled our way outside where we politely declined Alex Turner's invite to the after party and jumped on the last train home. I had to be up and out early the next morning to greet mum & D who had travelled down from Scotland for a quick visit.

We lounged around before catching up over an early supper.

We took our seats at Jamie's Italian and ordered a selection of our favourite starters.

First up, the spicy chicken wings.

A delicious mushroomy, pastry pie.

Cauliflower and parmesan bites.

And squid with basil mayo.

Which Mum particularly enjoyed!

When our mains came out, we were all pretty smitten with the burger.

A rich, juicy beef patty in a seeded bun topped with fresh salad and bacon.

And the rib-eye steak, served with fried mushrooms and garlic and parsley fries.

Full and suitably caught up, we paid the bill and headed back home.

The following day we visited my Grandparent's & took a snoop around Bicester Village.

I was feeling rather rebellious and took a photo of a no photography sign.

And was quickly sent to the back of the group.

Where I became instantly distracted by the soft glimmer of Jimmy Choo heel tips.

Mrs. White Company herself stocked up on candles and fluffy dressing gowns.

And we all regrouped to share our new purchases before hometime.

Apparently going to Bicester and coming home with only a floral Cath Kidston apron is totally frowned upon by the female race.

Whatever, minger. I like my aprons.
