Yesterday afternoon I pulled on my wellies and ventured into the great outdoors.
After pinky promising to bake a batch of Banuffins upon our return, The Boy agreed to accompany me for the afternoon. Wellie-less & chilly, he was a little unenthused.
Little did he know that we were about to have an adventure. Care to join us?
You might want to grab your wellies, it's pretty muddy out here, scout.
Don't say I didn't warn you. See The Boy searching for dry land over in the trees? What an amateur. We'll go ahead, puddle jumping as we go, and he can catch up.
Let's take a look around.
Wait. Did you hear that? There's something rustling in the bushes.
Is it a woodland monster? Some sort of grizzly bear? A wolf? It's about to pounce!
Don't be so silly. It's Harvey the pup on his daily stroll. You're going to have to stop being such a scaredy cat if you want to stick with me out here.
Let's see how you cope with climbing trees. Just copy me. Ok?
Try to keep your balance, these things are super slippery.
Look at that, I'm a pro! Time for a quick victory dance and then it's your turn.
The Boy is looking a little distracted from our little adventure, isn't he?
Time to wake him up with some funny faces, I think.
It looks like it's done the job! High five, fellow voyager.
Look - it's getting pretty dark now. I don't know about you, but my tummy's rumbling. Let's take a rain check on stream swimming and head back home.
It looks like we're out of the wilderness and back to civilisation.
Can I smell hot chocolate wafting from that pub? I'm pretty certain I can. You rinse the wellies and I'll go grab a couple of mug fulls.
Check it out, were just in time for the sunset. Thanks for coming along, buddy.
